Storage bed safe featured on BBC News

Our beds with a built-in security box have been attracting quite a lot of attention recently. We love them and so too do journalists it seems. This week the BBC regional television programme East Midlands Today came to film us for a feature. This is how the presenter introduced the report:

 

"You'll have heard of people who hide their money under the mattress, well a local bed specialist has adapted that idea and says sales have rocketed during the recession.

 

The Storage Bed Company from Calverton in Nottinghamshire say their biggest seller is the model with a safe built into the bed frame. Business took off after the collapse of Northern Rock."

 

The safe under the mattresss is a modern solution to an age-old problem. We all want to keep our precious things safe, but we also know that installing a traditional safe is tricky. At the very least it will involve a hole in the wall or floor and all the associated mess and disruption. It probably won't be particularly easy to access either - it will be under a sofa and involve rolling back carpet and delving into a deep, dark hole.
